This originally was built in the mid 1890's to be used as a college. It operated that way for about 10 years and was then closed due to financial problems. It later was used by the City as the High School building for a few years. Then it was sold and a new high school was built on the "school" property several blocks away. This building was torn down and a home was built in its place by Alex Green. The street where this building was built is now called, you guessed it! College St.
**Updated: Photo taken directly behind the present Library as it stands today. Now this playground is covered by the Telephone Company Building, and the Post Office.

This fellow was brought to Reinbeck by a veteran of the Civil War in the late 1800's. He worked at odd jobs all over town. He was known as Rag Time Charlie.  When he passed away, he was buried in the Reinbeck cemetery. His headstone says he is Charlie Darky.
