The Sheller Cemetery is located on the northwest corner of Section 10 in Melrose
Township of Grundy County, Iowa, two miles north of the Ivester Church. It received its
name from Daniel Sheller, pioneer resident of the Ivester community. When his
grandson, Harry Moore, died in November 1870, Daniel Sheller donated a plot of ground
for his burial and for the community. The Sheller Cemetery is not an organization of the
Ivester Church although many of the church's members have served on the board of
directors through the years and the majority of the families of the church use it as their
family burial place.
