No. 78. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schuster,
Dubuque, Iowa. Private Schuster served on the
Mexican Border as a member of the First Iowa Infantry. He was transferred into the 168th
Infantry Company and was with them in all their engagements
prior to May 27th. Private Schuster was a good man
both in the barracks and in the line.

Died in Hospital at Baccarat May 28, 1918 from gas received on May 27th at the
Lorraine Front. Buried in Baccarat Cemetery, Grave No. 81. Private Hann proved his worth
as a soldier in the
attack on Marcy 5th. His comrades will always remember his cheerful
disposition, his obedience
to orders and his sterling qualities. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hann,
Winterset, Iowa.
