      Killed April 13, 1918 at Village Negre. Buried April 16th in Grave No. 39, Baccarat Cemetery. A high explosive shell hit in the center of a path in which Private Young and several others were walking, killing one and wounding several. Private Young was severely wounded.  He was conscious to the last, talking cheerfully while his wounds were being dressed and asked for a cigarette.  When leaving in the ambulance he called good-bye to the men. Relative's address: W.         Died at Field Hospital No. 167 at Baccarat, France on April 14, 1918. Buried April 16th in Grave No. 40. Corporal Parkinson contracted pneumonia while the regiment was in the Lorraine Sector and died on April 14th. Sister – Miss Katherine M. Parkinson, Portsmouth, Iowa.
