Killed October 14, 1918, in Argonne. Private Kington was killed by a high explosive
shell on the advance towards Hill 288. He had made a splendid record at St. Mihiel.
Private Kington came as a replacement in August, 1918. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward D.
Kington, Madison, North Carolina.

Private Gibbons was instantly killed by a high explosive shell while advancing up Hill
288. Private Gibbons came to the 168th Infantry as a replacement just a short time before
his death.
