Died in the hospital. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey
Haynes, Kenley, North Carolina. Private Haynes joined
Company A the 27th of August and was slightly wounded
at St. Mihiel and sent back to the hospital. While at
the hospital he contracted pneumonia and died of that
disease shortly after.
