Killed at Chateau Thierry near Epieds, July 26, 1918. Buried in Grave No. 2, Conde-en-brie. Son of Mrs. Emelia Bunyan, Keokuk, Iowa. Sergeant Bunyan was killed by shell fire while going forward in the attack on Sergy. He was a jovial, whole-hearted personage behind the lines and cool in the face of danger. Had he lived he would have been a valuable leader in the trying days that followed.
