KNOW YE, That  William J. Jeffers Corporal of Company M of the 57th Regiment of Iowa Infantry Volunteers, who was enrolled on the 26th day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight to serve two years, or during the war, is hereby DISCHARGED from the service of the UNITED STATES, by reason of S. O. #168, C. S. Dept. Cal. for service no longer  required.

 

*NO OBJECTION TO HIS REENLISTMENT IS KNOWN TO EXIST

 

The said William J. Jeffers was born in Bureau Co., in the State of Illinois, and when enrolled was 22 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, Dark complexion, L. Blue eyes, D brown hair, and by occupation a student.

GIVEN at U. S. Gen'l Hosp'l, Presidio, Cal. this 17th day of August, 1899.
