Discharge from Draft.
To all whom it may concern:
This
is to Certify, that
Elmer E. Benson, #3224204 a recruit, Co. K, 352nd, Infantry
N. A. is hereby assigned to 163rd Depot Brigade,
is hereby DISCHARGED from the
military service of the United States by reason of Physical
deficiency as per Form #2, dated.
May 31, 1918, giving reason for discharge, Hermia, left Inguihal,
existed prior to enlistment; return to Local Board for
re-classification, Group "B".
Said
Elmer
was inducted into the service from the
jurisdiction of the Local Board for Clayton County, Elkader,
Iowa,
on the
27th day, of May, 1918.
While this certificate discharges
the person named herein from his present obligation to serve in
the Army, it does not operate as a permanent bar to his
subsequent entrance into the military service. Under Section 5 of
the Act of May 18, 1917, all registered persons remain subject to
the draft unless exempted or excused as in that Act provided.
Therefore, this discharge does not exempt the holder from
obedience to the process of Exemption Boards.
