     Floyd H. Wells (army serial No. 2158832), corporal, Company M, 326th Infantry. For extraordinary heroism in action near St. Juvin, France, October 16, 1918. With another soldier Corpl. Wells advanced sevaral hundred yards ahead of the front line under heavy artillery and machine gun fire and rescued a wounded comrade.


Residence at enlistment: Chester, Iowa (Howard co.)
