Fremont County Lookups Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2001 20:14:13 -0600 From: "Carla Porath" <cporath@email.msn.com > Pat-- In your newspaper abstracts is there any mention of the name Busick, Busic, Buzick? I know Edward Jones Busick and wife Margaret Allen Busick were in Fremont county May 1869 when their son, George Harrison Busick, was born. She remarried in June 1871, so I assume Edward probably died. She remarried in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie county. I sincerely thank you in advance. |

Fremont County Marriage Record Date: Tue, 1 May 2001 14:43:10 -0500 From: "Bill C. Macy" <bcmlnkne@email.msn.com > Hi Pat -- I see you are kind enough to do look-ups in Fremont County, Iowa. I am looking for a marrige record from about 1867 for a John Enich Gilliland and an Anne E. (?). He was living with his parents in Monroe Township in the 1860 census and moved with his new wife to Jackson Township, Gentry County, Missouri in about 1869-1870 as they are in the 1870 census there with a child born about 1868 in Iowa. In the alternative, if you don't have time for the look-up, let me know where I can go to look for myself because I don't live that far away. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Re: Fremont County Marriage Record Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 From: "Bill C. Macy" <bcmlnkne@email.msn.com> Hi Pat -- Thanks for checking the marriage records for me. I really appreciate it. The only thing I have on this family is that five of their nine children were born in Monroe Township, Fremont County, Iowa between late 1850 and early 1859. The oldest was born in Cedar County, Iowa a year after the marriage of the parents there in 1847. The last three were born in Missouri. Last evening I did some more digging in my old records. I may have been wrong about the marriage being in Fremont County. The second youngest sister of the family was born in Gentry county Missouri in 1864 so it appears more likely that the marriage was in Missouri. The only trouble with that is the 1870 census indicates their first child being born in Iowa. John would have only been 16 in 1864 so unlikely he had a wife yet. I know this is confusing so I have attached a txt file. Again, thanks for checking for me. Bill Bill C. Macy |

Re: Fremont County Marriage Record Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 11:24:29 -0500 From: "Bill C. Macy" <bcmlnkne@email.msn.com> Hi again Pat -- Went out to your site. Very nice. Even had my Gilliland
family on the 1860 census in Monroe Got kind of excited when I first looked at your 1860 census. The next family on the list was Daniels. That is the maiden name of one of the other son's spouse. But no Emily. Close but no cigar. Strange though, the Daniel's children on that census were all born in Indiana and that is where the spouse was from according to the census. Perhaps another hard to read census?? I better check that one out as it would give me her parents and siblings. Thanks again for your help. If I can dig up anymore information on this bunch I may take you up on the offer to add the information to the web site. THANKS! Bill Bill C. Macy |

| Pat, My name is Sheila Ziph. My parents are Kenny and Karen Thompson and my grandma is Donna Hunter. I am trying to find searches on my twin uncles born to Charles and Wava Thompson. We don't know if they were buried in the Riverton cemetary or the Sidney cemetary. They were born after 1943 and before 1946. We think their names were James and John. I am also looking for information on my great-great parents Lee and Cinderella Renshaw. They were buried in the Hamburg cemetary in 1957 and 1959 respectively. I would like more information on when and where they were born. If there is any information on these four people that you know of I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Sheila kkrtson@coin.heartland.net | |

| From: Minloft@aol.com To: genpat@netins.net Sent: Sunday, July 28, 2002 Subject: Collier Family Good Afternoon- I'm not sure if I should be sending this to you or not. But I'm trying to find out anything I can about my family from Sidney, IA and 1 of my Great Uncles move to Tabor, IA. But they were all form Sidney and I can't find much of anything on them except for a few old records from the museum a couple of years ago. My Great Grandfather was John Collier, he had 3 brothers and 1 sister. Joe, Jim, William, Sarah. Their father owned farms around Sidney. John had a large livery stable in town that I think burned in 1896. Then they built the water tower were his stable was. One of the brothers because a dentist and one had a bakery next to the water tower. My Grandma who was John's daughter, told me this much. She was born in Sidney. Bessie Bell Collier. My father who was Bessie Bell's son was my father. I can't find anything in the census records or anyplace else on them. I have searched and searched trying to find more than the one 1880 census record I have of my great grandparents Roland C. and Lucy A. Manrose Burdick. The record comes from the LDS Website and shows them and some of their children in Prairie Township. I’ve looked at everything on the Fremont County Website and can’t find a single reference. I’ve been told Roland is buried in the Riverton Cemetery. He died in 1881 at a relatively young age of 53. I think Lucy then married a Clayton. I believe she is buried immediately adjacent to her son Bradford in the Grant City (Missouri) Cemetery. Her daughter Carrie E. is buried with her. Apparently Carrie married a Coy since her headstone has that name. Is do see some Coy families in Freemont County but cannot yet connect her to any of them. The children included Albert, twins Bradford and Bert, Judson, Nathan, Carrie, and Alma. Can you confirm the presence of this family in Fremont County? What about the Burdick/Coy connection?
