George Devire Vermilyea
George Devire Vermilyea (William S. 7, Nathaniel Drake, Jr. 6, Nathaniel Drake 5, Philip 4, Peter 3, Isaac 2, Johannes 1) born June 19, 1896 at Brooklyn, New York, married January 7, 1919 at Omaha, Nebraska Anna Elizabeth, daughter of William A. and Nancy Caroline (McCluskey) Bosworth who was born about 1898 in Iowa, died September 5, 1942.  He died July 16/17  1952.  They are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Brooklyn New York.

George went to Iowa on an orphan train at the age of 6.

1940 Federal Census, New York Kings, 544 4th Ave.: George Vermilyea, head, age 42, married, born New York, pump man, drydock; Anna, wife, age 42, married, born New Iowa; Fern, daughter, age 18, single, born Iowa; Dale, son, age 17, born Iowa, reclamation, CCC; George, son, age 15, born Iowa.

*1904. Delorise/Delores Lillian.
*1905. Fern Lilac, born April 26, 1921.
1906. Dale, born in 1923 at Sidney, Iowa, died January 15, 1941 at Brooklyn, New York as a result of burns suffered in a box factory fire. He was one of several that survived the fire, but died later at a hospital. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York (Pleasant Hill Section).
