Ann Kress (Cressy sp?), age 9, living with John and Nancy Carter, in 1885 census, Fremont county. She was born c1875/76, died in 1962. She is buried in the Sidney Cemetery.

Ann married Albert Otte on March 05, 1902. Albert was born June 15, 1867, and died June 6, 1934. Albert is buried in the Sidney Cemetery.

Children of Albert and Ann:

  • Opal K. Otte, born 1904, died 1974, buried in Sidney Cemetery.
  • Brooks A. Otte born 1906, died 1971. buried in Sidney Cemetery. Brooks wife, Rowena G. Otte, born March 26, 1909, died March 16, 2001.
Brooks is listed on Iowa Database of Patent Holders. He holds a patent of a ‘pulley’ dated 08/26/1941. This invention relates to improvements in lighting units for farm tractors and the like.

Heretofore, farm tractors have not been equipped with lights thereby necessitating the discontinuance of their use `after darkness has set in.

Therefore, the main objects of this invention are to provide a lighting unit for a farm tractor; to provide a lighting unit which may be adapted, to substantially all farm tractors now in use regardless of their make; to provide on a farm tractor suitable brackets and pulleys for supporting, adjustably and operating a generator to energize a lamp; to provide new and improved drive pulleys for connection to tractor, motor; and to provide a device of this kind with a minimum amount of parts which is easy to install, simple in construction and operation, and inexpensive to manufacture and operate.
