William H. Jennings
was born Burbon, Illinois*, February 15, 1855 and passed away at his
home northwest of Palmer Nebraska, January 23, 1930, aged 74 years
11 months and 8 days.
At the age of fourteen he left Indiana and made his home in
Illinois for seven years, when he moved to Missouri. In 1875 he
went to Iowa, where he was married to Miss Sarah Roberts, November
28, 1887. They moved to his community about five years ago. Mr.
Jennings became a member of the Congregational Church in 1897 at
Minersville, Nebraska.
He was a true and honest citizen and had made many friends in
the community during his short stay here.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends in
their bereavement.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, two sons, Grant
Jennings of Weeping Water, Nebr. and Alvin Jennings of Santiago,
California; one daughter, Mrs. Stella Johnson of Palmer, six
grandchildren, four brothers and many friends.
The funeral was conducted at the home on Saturday afternoon,
January 25, by Rev. Hamilton of Wolbach, and interment was made in
Rock Creek Cemetery, in the country he loved, and near so many of
his friends.
