Alfred Holland
Alfred
Holland, son of Otho and Minnie (Jennings) Holland, was born in
Atchison county, Missouri, April 21, 1906 and died at the Community
Hospital Nov 17, 1965 at the age of 57 years, 6 months, and 26 days.
He was a resident of Fremont
County all his life.
On August
22, 1927 he was united in marriage to Bertha Hill and to this union
four children were born.
Alfred served in the armed
forces during World War II and was a member of the Williams-Jobe-Gibson
Post 128 of the American Legion of Sidney.
He was
employed by the Fremont county road department of a number of years.
He is
survived by his wife, Bertha, of Hamburg; one daughter, Mrs.
(Charlotte) Willard Bradley of Rock Port; two sons Clayton of
Colorado Springs, Colo and James of East Riverdale, Md.; seven
grandchildren and one great grandchild; his father, O. C. Holland of
Hamburg; four sisters, Mrs. Merlin (Beulah) Lord, Shenandoah, Mrs
Leon (Loleta) Reed of Council Bluffs, Mrs Jake (Leona) Jennings,
Tabor and Mrs. Lynn (Ruth) Meyer of Nebraska City; one brother,
Kenneth Holland of Nebraska City; several nieces and nephews and a
host of friends.
He was preceded
in death by a son, Keith in 1936 and his mother, Minnie, in 1958.
Funeral services
were held Friday, Nov 19, at the Rash Funeral Home with Rev John L
Pettit officiating. Interment was in the Hamburg Cemetery. |
