Mrs. Glasgo's Rites Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis Glasgo were held
at the Harding Funeral Home April 16, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Paul
Beaver and the Rev. Homer Max of Council Bluffs officiating. Miss
Lorelie Max sang "It Is Well With My Soul" and "Hill of Zion", accompanied
by Mrs. Homer Max. Mrs. Wayne Fender
and Mrs. Ernest Blank took care of floral arrangements.
Pallbearers were Marion Glasgo, Jim Glasgo, Don
Glasgo, Glen Beck, Kenneth Beck and DeLoss Smalley, Jr. Interment
was in Chambers cemetery.
Relatives attending from out-of-town were Mr.
and Mrs. Dwaine Glasgo and family, Aurora, Ill.; Morris Glasgo, Manhattan
Beach, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Glasgo, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Clark
Vaughan and family, Grundy Center, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Holland, Mr. and
Mrs. Floyd Glasgow and Presley Glasgow of Sidney; Mrs. Gene Glasgow,
Thurman; Merle Ferrel and Mrs. Thera Ferrel, Randolph; Mrs. George Ferrel
and Jean, Council Bluffs; Mrs. Ruey Raymond, Farragut, and Mrs. Russell
Meyers of Silver City.
Addie May Baker, oldest daughter of James and
Abbie Baker, was born October 15, 1876, in Fremont County. She
died at the home of her daughter, LaVerne Smalley, in Shenandoah at
9:10 p.m. April 13, at the age of 81 years.
She was united in marriage to Ellis Glasgo on
March 24, 1898. Most of their married life was spent in Fremont
and Page Counties. Mr. and Mrs. Glasgo celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary March 24. Mr. Glasgo survives.
Eleven children were born to this union, six daughters
and four sons who survive; Mrs. DeLoss (LaVerne) Smalley; Mrs. John
(Zella) Alley; Mrs. Boyd (Pearl) Braymen; Mrs. Jake (Lois) Beck; and
Mrs. Margaret Holman, all of Shenandoah; Mrs. Stella McGaffigan of Anderson,
Iowa; Merle of Shenandoah; Morris of Manhattan Beach, California; Earl
of Essex; and Dwaine of Aurora, Illinois.
She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Zetta Vaughan;
26 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and
friends. One daughter, Frances, preceded her in death.
In her early life, she was baptized and joined
the United Brethren Church. Although she had been bedfast for
over six years, she never complained and always had a smile.

Funeral services for Ellis Glasgo were held
at the Harding Funeral Home October 7, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev.
Paul D. Beaver and the Rev. Homer Max of Council Bluffs officiating.
Glenn Sheirbon sang "It Is Well With My Soul" and "Zion's Hill",
accompanied by Mrs. Homer Max. Mrs. Ernest Blank and Mrs.
Ross Barrett took care of the floral arrangements. Pallbearers
were Marion Glasgo, Jim Glasgo, Don Glasgo, Glen Beck, Kenneth Beck
and DeLoss Smalley, Jr. Interment was in Chambers cemetery.
Ellis Glasgo, son of Presley and Martha Glasgo,
was born April 2, 1870 in Fremont County and passed away at the
Simons Nursing Home in Shenandoah at noon, October 4, at the age
of 88 years.
He was united in marriage to Addie May Baker
on March 24, 1898. Most of their married life was spent in
Fremont and Page Counties. Mr. and Mrs. Glasgo celebrated
their 60th wedding anniversary March 24, 1958, and his wife passed
away April 13, 1958.

He also leaves to mourn, 26 grandchildren,
15 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Besides his wife, one daughter, Francis (Mrs.
Emil Bernardi), his parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded
him in death.
Mr. Glasgo was a very devoted father to his
family.
