Jan. 22, 1968 BELOVED MOTHER CLAIMED BY DEATH
Mrs. F. J. Duff, beloved mother,
passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thelma Jureczki, early
Monday morning from an apparent heart attack, to leave many relatives
and friends in this community to mourn her passing.
Clara Maude Thompson was born in
Anderson, Iowa on January 18, 1884, the daughter of James and Mary
Thompson. She grew to lovely young womanhood there and attended the
schools there. On May 7, 1902, she was happily married to Francis J.
Duff in Malvern, Iowa, and to this union was born eight girls and one
boy. Three daughters and the son survive. Mr. Duff preceded his wife
in death on June 27, 1959.
Mr. and Mrs. Duff and their three
daughters and one son, moved to Bandera in 1921 in the month of May
and have lived here since. Mrs. Duff was a wonderful and beloved
mother to her family, a splendid neighbor and had many friends here.
She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. During the
past few months she had lived with her daughters.
Rosary was recited at Plummer Funeral
Home Chapel Monday evening at 7 o'clock and Funeral services were
conducted at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Wednesday morning at 10:00
o'clock with Msgr. Paul J. Ehlinger officiating and interment was made
in he Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Kalka, Jerry Kalka,
Tommy Kalka, Charles Samford, James Duff and J.O.Kalka.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Kalka, Mrs. Thelma Juerczki, and Mrs. Willie Kalka; son Dennis Duff of this city; 20 grandchildren; 40 great grand-children; and six great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Stella Thompson of Ogalla, Nebraska; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins |
