Obituary for George Curtis Frakes:

Services for George C. Frakes, 86, of Nebraska City, who died Dec. 28, 1986 at Valley View Care Center, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

Frakes was born June 5, 1900, at Percival, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis R. Frakes. He and Naomi Lord were married July 27, 1932, at Holton, Kan. A retired farmer and member of the Baptist church, he lived in the Percival and Nebraska City communities his entire life, moving to Nebraska City in 1963. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a 50-year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Hamburg, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi; two daughters, Nadine Frakes of Nebraska City and Mrs. Jerry (Chris) Jordan of Omaha; and a sister, Viola Lytle of Hamburg. The family will be present for visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Valley View Friends of the Family Auxiliary.

Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery at Knox, Iowa.

Gude Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
