DEATH OF MRS. GEO. H. THAYER
The announcement was made Sunday of the death of Mrs. Geo. H. Thayer
at her home in Locust Grove township from Brights disease at the are
of 66 years, 4 months, 14 days. She was married to Geo H. Thayer
April 15, 1867 and to them ten children were born – seven of whom
are living and all were present at the funeral. In addition to
husband and children she leaves two half sisters in New York,
twenty-four grandchildren and a large circle of friends.
Irene M. Waver was a native of Munday, New York, the date of her
birth being November 13, 1843, and the date of her death being March
27, 1910. She united with the Methodist church in early life and for
twenty-two years her membership was with the Locust Grove church
near her home where interment was made on Tuesday the services being
conducted by her pastor, Rev. Aten. Mrs. Thayer was known to be a
charitable woman and willing to extended aid to any worthy cause and
her influence will be greatly missed. She was one of the very early
settlers of Locust Grove township and was indeed a friend to all. |
