FINDLEY- ZUCK
WEDDING
~~~~
One
of the prettiest weddings that has taken place for some time was on
Wednesday at high noon when Mr. Reich A. Findley and Miss Mabel E.
Zuck were united in marriage at the home of her parents six miles
east of Hamburg. This wedding has been looked forward to for some
time and as both bride and groom are among our most prominent young
people the interest in their welfare was quite widely evident. They
are both prominent, she having been organist for a number of years
at Madison church. Both are liked by every one and, as “all the
world loves a lover,” everyone has been interested in their
courtship. The home of Mr. and Mrs. John Zuck was the center of
attraction on Wednesday, December 30, ’08, about 40 guests were
invited to witness this ceremony. The wedding march was played by
Oletta Ackley, a cousin of the bride, and promptly at 12 o’clock the
bride and groom descended the stairs, unattended, and took their
places near the bay window where they were met by the officiating
clergyman, Rev. Joe Stephen, of Farragut, pastor of the M. E.
church. The corner was decorated in Christmas green and carnations
under which hung three white Christmas bells. The bride wore a gown
of white bastiste trimmed in embroidery silk bands. The groom wore
the conventional black
The wedding dinner was served by Miss Nellie Zuck, sister of the
bride, Mrs. Andy Barnes and Mrs. Bina Holtsinger.
Mr. and Mrs. Findley expect to make their home after March 1st
near Richmond, South Dakota, where he has purchased a farm. They
received many nice presents, valuable and useful as well as
ornamental, which are very material evidence of the esteem and
affection of their many friends.
