STRAYER 1863, daughter of GEORGE STRAYER and CATHARINE
GRAY. She was born 01 Jun 1843 in Ohio, and died 03 Apr 1873 in
Atchison county, Missouri. He married (2) ELIZA BOETTNER 04
Jan 1874 in Residence of Isaac Martin in Polk Township, the county
of Atchison Missouri, daughter of JACOB BOETTNER and ANNA
HALL. She was born 27 Jan 1857 in Linden, Missouri, Atchison
County, and died 16 Aug 1938 in Wellington Kansas.

In last week's Reporter we gave a
short account of the death of Mrs. W. E. Long, at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. W. H. Lant of Red Oak.

in Red Oak and burial was made in the Hamburg cemetery. The
following obituary is Oak Express:
artin was born in Atchison county,
Mo., March 10, 1869, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Martin. Her
mother died when she a leaving her father and three children.
After the father's remarriage, the three children lived with
relatives and in the years following became separated to the extent
that in May of this year a sister, Mrs. Eda Lee, now living in
Hollywood, Calif., came to Red Oak where a reunion of the three
children took place at the W. H. Lant home, Mrs. Long and her
brother, George Martin, of Silver Creek, Nebr., had not seen nor did
they know the whereabouts of Mrs. Lee for over fifty years. The
reuniting of the two sisters and brother came about as a result of
Mrs. Lee writing a letter to her long lost sister, addressed to
Hamburg, in her maiden name of Mary Martin where Mrs. Lee knew they
were raised as little children.
"Miss Mary Catherine Martin was
married at Rock
Port, in 1866, to William Ellsworth
Long. Mr. Long died at Hamburg, August 17, 1922. In March, 1926,
Mrs. Long came to Red Oak to make her home with her daughter, Mrs.
W. H. Lant.
Red Oak, Mrs. Long had lived most of
her life at Hamburg, and at Westboro,
Mo., although she had lived
for a time in Des Moines. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs.
W. H. Lant, of Red Oak; Mrs. C. E. Butler and Miss Katherine Long,
of Chicago,
all of whom were present at the funeral. One daughter, Jessie, died
in infancy. She is also survived by her sister and brother, Mrs.
Eda Lee, Hollywood, Calf., and George Martin, Silver Creek, Nebr.,
and a half brother and half sister, Henry Martin and Mrs. Charles
Hays, living at Watson.

Article: Minnie B. Martin was born
near Linden, Mo. February 11, 1875, and passed away at Watson April
22, 1958. She married Charlie Hayes (Hays) Dec. 18, 1895,
who preceded her in death Jan.
10, 1944. To them were born two daughters, Gertrude R. Maupin of
Watson and Bonnie Leo (Lea) Johnson of St. Joseph. She was a
member of the Watson
Methodist Church for 45 years, and
took an active part in the aid society. She was a member of the
Watson Homemakers Club for many years. She leaves to mourn her
passing, two daughters, six grandchildren and three great
grandchildren, three brothers, H. L. Martin, Rock Port,
Mo, Isaac Martin, Clinton, Mo,
and Halbert of Wellington, Kans. One brother, three sisters, a
half-brother and two half-sisters preceded her in death. Funeral
services were held at the Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev.
Cooper. Interment at High Creek.
