Fremont County, Iowa

Mackey Cemetery
(Lyons Township, Section 36)

Neighborhood Cemetery
Scott Township, Iowa

Mackey is a neighborhood cemetery in the rugged Waubonsie hills, northwest of Tabor, Iowa. Land was originally donated to the Mackey family. The north part of the cemetery is in Mills County, and the south part is in Scott Township, Fremont County.

It has been well cared for by the trustees of both counties, sharing the cost. Turn and go south 1/4 mile, until you find a house. The Cemetery is behind the house. It is a family plot with just 4 burials. The people who own the house take care of the cemetery. I took a look at this cemetery on November 7, 2002. - Anne Braun
