Locust Grove Cemetery
(Locust Grove Township)
The Locust Grove Cemetery began one day as a family was traveling on the Old Post Road, when their daughter died. They drove on a little further to the Isaac Wagoner farm, and
asked permission to bury their daughter on his farm, away from the road. Mr. Wagoner gave permission and promised to care for the grave.
Soon other graves were added.
In 1872, Isaac's daughter, Edna died. Edna, was the first stone in the Locust Grove Cemetery. In December 1875, the Wagoners donated land for a township cemetery.
John Yates donated another acre, and space for the Methodist Church, which was built in 1885.
