 POPEJOY NEWS BITS  

Popejoy, January 1--P. L. Mendell has sold his stock of general merchandise to J. H. Popejoy of Iowa City. Mr. Popejoy takes possession as soon as invoice can be completed. Mr. Popejoy was born and reared in Franklin county, and is well known having been cashier of the Bank of Popejoy and also in the general merchandise business at this place.     (Evening Times- Republican, Marshalltown, Iowa, January 1, 1912)

Popejoy, August14--The Popejoy Creamery has been bought by the E. G. Hicks Creamery Company, who will take possession at once and be ready to operate it in a few days. They will take nothing but hand separator cream after the first month and will gather the cream, saving the farmers the trouble, time and expense of delivering at the creamery, and guarantee Elgin prices.
