OBITUARY: Thomas LeGore Phillipson, 83, Route 2, Cedar Rapids, husband of 
Josephine Phillipson, died at a Cedar Rapids hospital Saturday after a short 
illness. Born June 21, 1897 in Cedar Rapids, he farmed in the Cedar Rapids 
area most of his life. He had been married to Ara Borghart, who died in 1960. 
He was married to Josephine Kraemer LeGore in Cedar Rapids Sept 16, 1963. 
He was a Navy veteran of World War I. Surviving in addition to his wife are one 
daughter, Mrs. Joseph Hronik of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons and one 
great-grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Abbey and Addie Phillipson, both of 
San Diego. Burial at Baker Cemetery.

OBIT: Ara Jane Phillipson, wife of T.L. Phillipson, route two, Cedar Rapids, a 
lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids and vicinity, died at her home Wednesday 
afternoon following a sudden illness. She was born Sept 17, 1901, in Cedar 
Rapids and was married Oct 1, 1920. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, 
Mrs. Joseph Hronik of Cedar Rapids, 3 sisters, Mrs. Frank G. Brush of Cedar 
Rapids, Mrs. Thomas P.Smith of Ottumiwa, and Miss Maude Borghart of 
Waterloo, and 2 grandchildren. Burial Baker Cemetery. (Newspaper clipping 
hand dated 8/17/60)
