Date: 26 Oct 1934 - Elvaston, Hancock, Illinois, USA General Notes (Husband) BIRTH: Benjamin Dennis Phillipson, 15 Jan 1869, Scothern (Certified Entry of Birth) DEATH: Benjamin Dennis Phillipson, 9 March 1954, age 85, died at Amery, Wisconsin (Wisconsin Certificate of Death) OBITUARIES: Benjamin Dennis Phillipson, was born in England Jan. 15, 1869 and died at Amery March 9. He came to America in 1886, where he was naturalized as an American citizen Nov. 1, 1892. On several occasions, he returned to England. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Brown at Wesley Chapel in Clasketgate, England, on March 28, 1906, returning to America where their home was established at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and their two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his wife in June, 1908. Mr. Phillipson moved to Wisconsin in 1921, living in the Clear Lake and Amery communities since that time. Educated in the Church of England school, he was affiliated with the Salvation Army and the Wesleyan Methodist church in England. He was also active in Christian work in the United States. Mr. Phillipson is survived by his two sons, Arthur B. of Amery, and Walter D. of La Jolla, Calif.; also one granddaughter, besides other relatives in California, Iowa, England, and New Zealand.
