The above history says Charles Ivins was a prosperous farmer in Burlington County, NJ but, in 1841, he disposed of his farm and moved to Nauvoo, Illinois. "Finding the Mormons of that region inimical to Gentile settlers" he moved to LaHarpe, Illinois and engaged in farming but later moved back to Nauvoo and published a newspaper - the Nauvoo Expositor - which was critical of Joseph Smith. After publishing one issue, "the Danites" destroyed his presses "and threatened to destroy the publisher." He then moved to Keokuk, Iowa. 1879 Lee County History, Biographical Sketches Keokuk, City (biography of W.S. Ivins) as follows: IVINS, W.
