Welcome to the IAGenWeb Dickinson County Gravestone Photo Project - GPP. We invite you to join us in creating a common searchable Gravestone Photo database. Our mission is to preserve digital images of stones while the inscriptions may still be read and to assist researchers in making connections.

Please search the site for your Dickinson County ancestors, and if you have them, please add photos of your Iowa ancestor's gravestones to the database. You will be listed as the contributor so others may find you. Also, when you submit your gravestone transcriptions, please remember to fill in the comments area. Adding names of relatives can be helpful to cousins looking for them.

This is just one more great place to make connections with others researching the same Dickinson County families. We hope you will find it a valuable tool.

Photo size: Gravestone Photos should be of ".jpg" or ".jpeg" format and no larger than 500k in size . . . preferably much less than 100k to speed uploads. Photos will be automatically resized to a maximum of 500 pixels wide or tall and file size will be optimized for storage space conservation. If possible, cropping photos to emphasize the stone is desirable.
