Information from the reference librarian at the Burlington Public Library:
There were 11 schools plus the high school in 1924 in Burlington. Wm. J. Samson was listed in the 1924 City Directory as the principal at Salter School on 7th and Maple. All the teachers listed are females: Lillian S. Russell, Harriet V. Shelby, Sadie E. Bershee, Linn E. Kurchen, Hattie L. Peterson, Gertrude Swan, Helen D. Riehle*, Marie K. Krieg, Hazel Cox, and Frances Shumate. The directory did not list which grades they taught. Salter was previously South Hill (no South Hill is listed in 1924).

*Helen Riehle married Robert M. Hertzler in Burlington in 1928 and lived there until her death in the late 1970s.
