YOUNG:
QRYTEXT: Burlington, Iowa or surrounding area. Looking for
information on my grandfather and grandmother; Earl Young and
Agnes Young (married name) or my great-great-grandfather,
Nicholas Young, also known as N.S. Young (possibly spelled
Nicolas?) Earl and Agnes Young had three children: Mary Young
(married name of McElligott in Buffalo, NY), Nicholas Young
(deceased, last known residence in California) and James Warren
Young, Sr. (my father, now deceased). From what I'm told my
grandfather's (Earl) family had a company in Burlington that had
something to do with manufacturing bricks. The name
"Stinkfish" was engraved in this company's products.
The company apparently didn't fare well after the Keokuk dam was
built. My grandmother (Agnes) worked in a button factory in
Burlington. My great-great-grandfather (Nicholas, or N.S.)
founded a lodge or club in the area that had a lake nearby. My
grandmother's brother drowned in this lake when he was about 16
or 17 years old. I think my grandmother died in the early 1960's
and my grandfather died around 1969, I believe in Illinois. Both
are buried in Burlington, IA. My father died on December 18, 1983
in Danville, VA (just living there a very short time). He was
born in Chicago, IL on April 11, 1928. Any information would be
