Alice Richardson
Alice Augusta Richardson, 75, of Sperry, died at 8:43 p.m. Tuesday, at
University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Born Sept. 3, 1923, in Danbury, she was the daughter of Charles and Augusta
Koster Dethlefsen. She married Dohren I. Richardson on Dec. 22, 1941, in Dakota
City, Nebraska.
Mrs. Richardson was a graduate of Ida Grove (Iowa) High School. She was a
homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Roger Richardson of Gold River,
Calif., Jerry Richardson of Ashland, Tenn., and Larry Richardson of Upper
Marlboro, Md.; four daughters, Jeannette Richardson, at home, Pamela Wagler of
Fort Madison, Alice Wooldridge of Burlington and Karen Noe of Marshalltown; 15
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice VanLaningham of
Seabrook, Texas; and one brother Robert Dethlefsen of Ida Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m Friday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will
receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
There will be no funeral service.
A memorial has been established for her daughter, Jeannette.
