Born Dec. 5, 1907, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Edward and Florence Gilbert Cable. On Feb. 27, 1926, she married Willie Hester in Monmouth, Ill. He died March 19, 1991.
Mrs. Hester was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith and was active at the Senior Citizens Center. Survivors include eight sons, Richard E. Hester, Raymond W. Hester, Larry G. Hester, Bill D. Hester and David L. Hester, all of Burlington, Wayne E. Hester of West Burlington, James R. Hester of Wayland and Bob Bower of Phoenix; two daughters, Joyce Pender of Burlington and Marilyn Mullens of Rock Island; 47 grandchildren; 117 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The graveside funeral for Mrs. Hester will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Senior Citizens Center.
