Frances Eudora Peterson Fridley,
79, of Burlington, died at 10:52 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Great River
Medical Center in West Burlington. Born July 18, 1921, in Plano, she was the
daughter of Charles and Bessie Bear Peterson. On Feb. 15, 1942, she married Paul
B. Fridley in
Centerville. Mrs. Fridley was
a housewife and an accomplished musician. She was a member of First United
Church of Christ, Treble Clef Club, PEO Chapter, Friends of Southeast Iowa
Symphony, Dorcas Circle of First United Church of Christ and other music
organizations. She served for more than 25 years as her church's organist and
was choir director and organist for several other Burlington churches. She
enjoyed travel, loved flowers, doing latch hook, embroidery, playing the piano
and organ and attending concerts. Survivors include her husband; four sons,
David Fridley of
Burlington, Gary Fridley of
Sioux City, James Fridley of
Apple Valley, Minn., and Dale Fridley of
Monrovia, Md.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several cousins,
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will
begin after 8 a.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel. The family will receive friends one
hour prior to the time of service Tuesday at First United Church of Christ. The
funeral for Mrs. Fridley will
be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Milo Van
Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will be in Burl-ington Memorial Park Cemetery.
