The Swedish Lutheran Church Cemetery is in Huron Township, section 34. It is located about 1 1/2 miles north of Kingston on highway 99, where you turn west (left) onto a gravel road. Continue on the gravel road for about 2 miles. You will find this cemetery on a high bank. The church was torn down in 1974.
From the back of the marker: "This is the site of the Swedish Evanglical Lutheran Church of Amityville. It was organized in 1868 by Swedish immigrants who settled in this vacinity besause the natural landscape reminded them of their homeland. In 1892 a more centrally located church was built in Mediapolis to become known as Immanuel Evangealical Lutheran Church. This marker was placed in 1973 when original structure was dismantled."
