Amzie G. Davey, well known Earlville resident, passes away.

Amzie G. Davey, a well known and highly esteemed farmer of this county, passed away at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Davey, last Thursday forenoon at 11:30 o'clock, the cause of his death being cancer, with which he had been afflicted for the past year. Mr. Davey was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Davey and he was about 48 years of age. He is survived by his widow who was formerly Miss Maude Williams and an adopted daughter Esther Davey, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Davey and three sisters, Ida, at home, Mrs. Nettie Tinkey of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Henry Stonecipher of near Earlville. Mr. Davey was prominently identified with the Congregational Church here and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. W. Stark, pastor of the Congregational Church. The large congregation present and the many beautiful floral offerings attested to the high esteem in which ! the deceased was held. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery. Friends of the family extend sincere sympathy.
