LEWIS TONEY

Funeral services for Lewis Toney were held in Denver, following his death

June 9. Mr. Toney born in 1857 was a pioneer resident of Decatur County

where he spent most of his life before going to Colorado in 1925.

His first marriage was to Ellen Mitchell and four daughters were born to

them, Mrs. Mae Robertson of Lamoni, Mrs. Eva Ross of Burlington, Lilla and

Ida both deceased.

Nancy Jackson and to them were born five children, Lewis, Emory, Ira and

Mrs. Gladys Gibson of Denver, and Mrs. Dorothy Horton of Buzzard Bay, Mass.

He is survived by a brother, John of Weldon, Iowa, a sister Mrs. Nancy

Salesbury of Hamsburg, Oregon, sixteen grandchildren and nine

great-grandchildren besides hid wife and seven children.
