FRANK TONEY

TONEY, Frank, 80, Lamoni, died at Westview Acres Feb. 12. Services in charge

of the Slade Funeral Home were conducted from the Lamoni RLDS Church Feb, 14

with Elders Bill Ballantyne and Bob Hynden officiates. Burial was in Rose

Hill Cemetery, Lamoni.

FRANK TONEY

Frank Toney was born April 2, 1891, north of Lamoni in Decatur County, Iowa

and died Feb. 12, 1972 at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa.

Frank spent his life on farms north of Lamoni. The last 52 years were spent

on the same farm north of Lamoni where he raised Black Angus cattle.

He was united in marriage Feb. 18, 1913 to Bertha Catherine DeVries. To this

union were born three sons: Gerald D., Oct. 27, 1916; Jay Leroy, July 20,

1920 and Thurman Jerome, June 25, 1924.

Frank was preceded in death by his mother Florence (Harner) Toney in 1891;

wife Bertha died March 8, 1964; son Thurman Jerome was taken in a Gibbs-Cook

heavy equipment accident June 2, 1964. His father, John Wilson Toney, died

Sept. 21, 1966 at the age of 100 years and six months.

Survivors are his son Gerald D. and wife Wanita, Carlisle, Iowa, and their

children, Marvel, Randy, and Kay; son Jay Leroy and wife Ona, Lamoni, their

children, Franklin Leroy, Janice Patricia, Royal Lee and Julian Jay;

daughter-in-law Betty, Des Moines; and her children, Lowell, Gary, Roxy

Joyce and Vicki Jo; also other relatives and friends.
