DeWayne (Rube) Toney, son of William T. and Nellie (Huntley) Toney, was born

February 21, 1920 near Lamoni Iowa in Decatur County and died July 24, 1961

at Boulder, Colorado at the age of 61 years, 5 months.

He spent the first 35 years of his life in Decatur County and then moved to

Colorado where he has lived for the past 26 years.

On February 14, 1940 he was married to Dorothy McDowell. To this union one

daughter, Peggy Ann Culver was born.

Rube was preceded in death by his mother Nellie, his father, William; one

brother, Opal Wayne (...); and one brother-in-law, Frank Williams.

He is survived by his daughter Peggy and two grandsons, Billy and Jack and

one granddaughter, Beverly of Colorado; four sisters, Juanita Kiddie and

husband Dale, of Boulder, Colo.; Flossie Schoonover and husband Dave; Louva

Dale and husband Darrel; and Mae Williams all of Davis City, Iowa. Seven

Nephews, 4 nieces and his companion Arlene Young of Boulder, Colo. Many

other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 30, 1981 at the Stewart-Duerr

Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa with Rev. Wilbur Bennett officiating. Burial was

in the Davis City cemetery.
