AARON LEWIS TONEY, fifth child of Charles A. and Nancy (Mitchell) Toney, was

born on Feb. 3, 1891, in Decatur County, Iowa, and died at the Clarke County

Hospital in Osceola, Iowa, on Sept. 18, 1989, age 98.

He lived in Decatur County until early adulthood and then moved west and

settled in Oregon. He and his wife Katherine recently returned to Iowa.

On April 8, 1942, Aaron was married to Katherine Leitzel at LaGrande, OR.

Aaron loved farming and mechanical work. During World War II he worked at

the Ordinance Depot at Boardman, OR.

Preceding him in death were his parents; six brothers: Lawrence, Lloyd,

Everette, Vernon, Virgil and an unnamed infant; four sisters: Zona Kent,

Clara Hullinger, Esther Toney and Maud Johnson; daughter, Opal Marie; and

son, Earl.

He is survived by his widow Katherine; and the children of his previous

marriage: Mae Marrs, Corvallis, OR, Carl L. Toney and wife Betty, Salinas,

CA, Dee Husk, Independence, OR, Loretta Reynolds, Des Plaines, IL, and

Mickey Glover, Roseville, MI; two stepchildren, Vivian Norman and husband

Charles, Great Falls, MT, and Bill Leitzel , Alameda, CA; sister Elsa

Zimmerman, Osceola, IA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many

nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial was in the Davis City Cemetery.
