Subject: Obit James Thomas Toney

James Thomas TONEY was born on a farm near Lamoni Iowa March 29, 1891 and

died March 14, 1969 at the Decatur County Hospital at the age of 77 years,

11 months and 14 days.

Jim was the third son of William Anderson TONEY and Martha Melissa ARVIN

TONEY, He was preceded in death by his parents, two half sisters and a

brother Len. He was a Decatur County resident his lifetime, except the time

spent in service during World War 1. At the age of 18 Jim operated a

threshing machine, with his brothers, Len and Bill.

He resided with Bill and his family.

August 15, 1942, He was united in marriage to Marcella CARTWRIGHT. To this

union two children were born: Gladys Deloris, Hood River, Ore. and James

Wayne, at home.

Survivors are his wife, Marcella; Deloris and James; two grandchildren,

David and Dee Ann KNIGHT; brother, Bill; other relatives and friends.
