Julia Alberta Thummel, daughter of William and Nancy Jane Thummel was born

on April 5, 1879 and died at her home in Leon on March 23, 1966 at the age

of 86 years, 1 month, and 18 days.

She was united in marriage to John Toney on February 26, 1903. To this union

six children were born, three sons and three daughters.

Surviving are: her husband John; six children, Ardis (Mrs. William

Creveling) of Osceola; Forest; John Jr. and Mrs. Hope Miller of Leon; Glen

of Des Moines; Lola (Mrs. David Wright) of Woodburn; 3 daughters-in-law; 2

sons-in-law; 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; one sister, Laura

Meeker of Worth, Mo.; and one sister-in-law, Myrtle Thummel of Vinita, Okla.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Frank and Ed Thummel,

and one sister, Sadie Bruce.

Interment was in the Leon cemetery.

26, with burial in the Leon cemetery].
