OBITUARY:  EMILY, wife of W. THROCKMORTIN, was born in Wayne County,
Indiana, and came to the western country with her widowed mother at the
age of l3.  She was united in marriage to the bereaved husband in Davis
County, Iowa, October l2, l83l.  Died August 27, l890, being 60 years, 2
months and l9 days old.  To them were born eight children.  Four of them
preceded her to the better land.  In the year l854, she gave her heart
to the Savior under the ministry of the REV. J.J. WATSON, and amidst all
the sorrows and conflicts of life, retained her Christian integrity.

SISTER THROCKMORTIN's death was a triumphant one, shouting praises to
her Redeemer, who was able to give her the grand triumph of a soul over
death, hell and the grave.  Farewell, loved one, you have preceded us to
the house not made with hands, but by the grace of God we expect to meet
you again.  As we have praised God together here, we expect to join you
in praising him forever more.

Funeral services were conducted by E. TILLOTSON, assisted by REV. W.
KOBB.  We commend the family and relatives to the same Heavenly Father,
in whom the departed one so long and lovingly trusted.
