June 5, l902

The subject of this sketch died at her home in Davis City, May l6, l902,
of paralysis, and was interred in the Davis City Cemetery the day
following, the funeral services being conducted at the Union Church by
the U.B. Pastor.

Grandma THOMPSON as she was familiarly known, was born in Vermillion
County, Ind., May ll, l825. Her maiden name was EWING. She was married
to FRANCIS THOMPSON in l845, coming with him to Wapello County, Iowa, in
l853 and to this county in l878. Her husband died in l885. She was the
mother of five children, two of whom preceded her to the spirit land.
She was a member of the U.B. Church for many years and always lived the
life of a true Christian. She was a loving mother, a kind neighbor and
a sincere friend. When death came she was ready.
