Subject: OBITUARY - SAMUEL THOMAS.

Died, at his home in Morgan Township, Sunday, September 27, l896, at the

advanced age of 85 years, SAMUEL THOMAS. The deceased was born at New

Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio, December 20, l8ll. He was united in

marriage to MISS HANNAH HOLLINGER in l834. In l857 he moved with his

family to Wapello County, Iowa, and then to his present home where he

was engaged in the factory with Clark Bros. for a number of years.

During his life he gained hosts of friends by his upright conduct and

honesty. He was a member of the Methodist Church for a number of years,

and on his death bed expressed his willingness to go, and said that all

was ready.

A wife and two daughters had preceded him to the land that knows no

sorrow, and a son and two daughters survive him. The funeral was

preached at the house of REV. ELMORE, after which his remains were laid

to rest, in the Dale Cemetery to await the final judgment day. A large

concourse of friends followed his remains to their last resting place.

The sorrowing relatives and friends have the sympathy of all in their

sad bereavement.
