ELSIE A. ELLIS was born in Mercer County, Mo., January 2, l852, and with

her parents, Judge and MRS. W.W. ELLIS, moved to Leon in l854. They

early united with the Christian Church with which MRS. STOCKTON

continued her membership till death. The deceased was married to JOHN

C. STOCKTON in Sherman, Texas, in l874. The husband with one son, LACON

D. survive her, their only daughter, STELLA, having died in January

last.

Her religious life was greatly strengthened during the late meetings by

Mr. Sunday, and she departed life strong in the faith. She was a

devoted mother, a noble wife and constant friend.
