WILLIAM EDWARD SPRY was born in Muskingum County, Ohio, September 4,

l847, and came with his parents to Iowa when six years of age. He grew

to manhood on a farm near Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He sought the Savior at

the age of l5 and ever after lived a steady, upright life. MR. SPRY and

MISS ANNA MANLOVE were united in marriage December 5, l867. To them

eight children were born, seven of whom survive as follows: MRS. MAUDE

STUBBS, of Mt. Pleasant; HARRY C., who resides in Montana; HOWARD W., of

Clarinda; MRS. CORA B. MCDANIELS, of Fairfax, Mo.; and ROSS, GRACIE and

STACEY who reside in this city with their mother. HATTIE M. departed

this life four years ago.

MR. SPRY was a kind and devoted husband and father and passed from earth

July 20, l90l, after several years of poor health. For the last few

weeks, his sufferings were intense but were borne with patience.

Funeral services were conducted at the house last Sunday morning at 9:30

o'clock by Rev. W.H. Ilsley after which interment occurred in Leon

Cemetery.
