Polk County Bar Association and one of the best known of the younger
lawyers of the city.
MR. SPRINGER was born in Leon, Decatur County, Iowa, thirty-four years
ago and was reared in that part of the state. He came to Des Moines,
and studying law in the Iowa College of Law, was admitted to practice
and located here. In November, l90l, he became associated with H.L.
Fickel, officing in the Iowa Loan and Trust Building. The firm soon
built up a good practice and was well and favorably known.
About seven months ago, MR. SPRINGER was taken down with a severe cancer
and has suffered intense agony since that time. A short time ago he was
removed to Mercy Hospital, where his death occurred Thursday morning, in
the presence of his mother, brother WIRT and sister JESSIE.
MR. SPRINGER was known among his associates as a splendid student of
history, of which he was extremely fond. There was no better posted man
in Des Moines on European history than MR. SPRINGER and his information
was always at the command of his friends and associates.
