MR. JOHN SPENCER, a well known old citizen of this vicinity, died at the

home of his daughter, MRS. S.M. LUNDY, north of this place, on last

Monday morning. He was one of the early settlers of this section and

was formerly engaged in the saw mill business and for many years located

in Decatur County, four miles northwest of Lineville. He was aged about

80.
