Subject: OBITUARY - MRS. ADEL SPENCER.

October 8, l896

Died at her home near Van Wert, Ia., September 27, l896, of paralysis of

the bowels, ADEL, wife of N.G. SPENCER, aged 27 years. DELL was born in

Clarke County, Iowa, near Lacelle and resided there until eleven years

ago, when she came to Decatur County, where she resided until her death.

At the age of fourteen she was converted and joined the Christian Church

and every since has lived a true follower of Christ. During the latter

part of her sickness, her suffering was intense, yet she bore it with

true Christian resignation, only regretting to leave her three little

girls. She had the best medical aid, and all was done by her loving

friends and neighbors that could be to alleviate her sufferings. Her

untimely death has cast a gloom over the entire community.

Funeral services were held at Van Wert, conducted by REV. JAMES BLAIR.
