CHRIS HENRY SIPHERD was born July 24, l870, at Knoxville, Ill. Died

June 20, l907, aged 36 years, l0 months and 26 days.

He, with his parents, MR. and MRS. W.H. SIPHERD, moved to a farm near

what is now Grand River, in March, l872. He spent his boyhood days and

attended the common school at Grand River. In October l89l, he went to

Nebraska, where he spent the greater part of five years farming, also

attended college at Lincoln, Nebr. During the summer of l897, he went

to Pittsburgh, Pa. In the spring of l902, he returned to Grand River

and on March 5th of that year was united in marriage to MISS IOWA M.

JENNINGS, now deceased. He and his bride returned to Pittsburgh and

from that time until his death, they made that city their home.

He was in the employ of the Pittsburgh Street Railway Co., as

superintendent of their workmen in the construction of bridges and it

was while performing his duty that he fell and received the injuries

which resulted in his death, dying 32 hours after suffering the most

excruciating pain.

Until the last, he was conscious and repeatedly expressed his belief in

his Savior and that he knew in whom he had believed and that he was able

to keep that which he had committed to his care. He left loving

messages to those most dear to him on earth hoping to meet them just

across the river where there would be no more partings. He leaves a

wife and little daughter, a mother, three sisters and three brothers and

a host of friends to mourn his departure.
